Making a fabric wall hanging.
How to make a fabric wall hanging with dowel.
I ve made fabric wall hangings by placing dowels through pockets made like you would curtains.
Lay dowel at top markings.
Choose your design for the wall hanging.
Cut lengths 2 longer than necessary.
Cut the excess fabric from the top of the dowel rod and then insert the gold screw eye hooks on the top of the rod.
What do you think.
The bottom dowel weights the fabric to stretch it.
Use the gold cording or picture wire to string wire from the top to hang it from.
Tassels can be placed on the corners and a piece of silky braid tied loosely at the two top corners will provide something to hang it.
Roll the excess fabric around the dowel rod and use the staple gun to staple all of the fabric layers in place across the length of the backside of the dowel rod.
Cut folded in half lengths of 08 cord to match the lengths of the curves on the template.
Lay folded end of cord under dowel and pull ends through the loop to secure.
