The bigger your size the more yarn you ll need.
How to make a latch hook into a wall hanging.
Turn your latch hook project right shaggy side down.
Insert the nail through the hole at the top.
Pull the yarn to the right between the latch and the hook and then wrap it around the back of the hook.
Some kits may have this border already marked.
Then slide the hook under one of the single strands on your canvas so that it comes up again.
Cut your latch hook canvas to your preferred size.
Hold the picture hanging hook for the left side of the wall hanging with the flat side against wall.
Hold all four strand ends in one hand so that they are just about at the crook of your latch hook.
Pick a place on your wall that will fit the dimensions of your wall hanging.
Then place two strands of yarn under your hook.
Using a whip stitch sew around the folded edge of your rug canvas as well as that tail to hold the extra rug canvas down at the back of your work as well as secure the tail end of your yarn.
Measure a 1 1 2 in on all four sides of the canvas grid and draw a border with your sharpie.
Step 2 cut a piece of fabric to the size of your latch hook including the 1 2 inch edge.
I cut mine to measure about 14 x 28.
Draw your yarn from back to front leaving a few inches of a tail as shown.
Pull the yarn up and to the left keeping the yarn under the latch.
