Use the allen key provided in the door handle kit to lock and secure the faceplate.
Follow the template instructions to drill the hole in the right location.
Push a door stop under the bottom edge of the door to keep it from moving and closing while you replace the handle.
Open the door and stick a door stop under the bottom edge of the door.

Step 2 remove latch mechanism take out two screws setting in the door edge and slide latch mechanism out.
Measure up the desired height of the door handle from the bottom edge of the door on the edge opposite the hinges using a tape measure.
Drill these two spindle holes on both the front and back of the door.
The spindle holes are where the door handle will eventually be inserted.
Create the spindle holes using a drill being careful to keep the drill parallel with the floor.

Turn each screw several times apiece alternating to stop one screw from binding by being removed further than the other one.
