If it appears the powder isn t penetrating use spray lubricant.

With open access to the cylinder remove the c clip or nut on the back of the lock.
Once removed you can insert a paper clip or other small rods into the back of the lock to push out the broken key.
Try to grip the broken key and pull it out.
If you are trying to remove a car key that has teeth on both sides of the key you can slide the saw blade in with the teeth up or down.
You do not have to put your tools in very far.
Other than pulling you may also try prying out the broken key.
Insert a screwdriver into the lock and turn it back to its default vertical position.
Taking a thin pair of jigsaw blades insert them into the keyway on opposite sides of the broken key facing downwards so they can hook the key s teeth.

Insert the tip of a pair of needle nosed pliers into the keyhole.

The best bet is to hold the nozzle of the plastic tube against the lock opening and squeeze very sharply in the hope that the pressure will force the powder into the lock and around the broken key.
Because it s a liquid it can seep into areas that a powder can t go.
From there apply the technique again and you will get the key out bit by bit.
