Disconnect the actuating rod from the door lock cylinder.
If any screws are exposed during this process remove them to release the lock and remove it from the door.
Look for a small set screw at the base of the handle.
Scratch awl or similar pointy tool.
Open the door and look for the latch plate along the door s edge.
At this point the square tab on the spindle is aligned with the square.
