How to remove sliding closet doors with wheels on top.
Replacing sliding closet doors or making repairs to the upper rail requires getting the closet doors off the slider rails.
The doors swing outward and you cannot swing the second door past the first one since they always overlap.
Pull the door up until you can see the bottom wheels on either side.
The slider rails are tracks that hold the upper rollers of each sliding panel.
Then angle the door towards you and pull gently detaching the door from its top track.
Then try lifting it up a little and pulling it towards you.
To remove the doors you must start with the front door which will be on the first track closest to you and continue on to the second to disengage the bracket wheels from the track.
The top of the door may swing back slightly but the second door will catch it.
Once this is complete repeat the process with the inside closet door.
To remove a sliding screen door find the screws at the bottom corners and unscrew them with a screwdriver.
First loosen the brackets at the top of each door with a flathead or philips head screwdriver.
At the bottom of the opening is a floor guide with two channels.
Rolling doors have wheels on the top and only.
Most of the time the door will pop right off.
Remove the outside closet door by first sliding the door to the center of the track.
Gently lift the door up while allowing the track wheels to disengage.
Remove the screws holding the bottom track in place with a screwdriver.
The floor guide keeps the doors level across the door opening.
If the wheels don t disengage right away swing.
Then use your screwdriver to unscrew the head stop located at the top of the door frame.
