How to shingle a roof ridge cap.
Place one of the sliced ridge cap shingle at either ends of the ridge line.
Installing the last shingle on the ridge cap or roof isn t hard.
Butt the edge of the first cap shingle along this line.
Put in one 2 inch long nail back 6 inches from the edge of the cap shingle.
Because ridge cap shingles cover the peak of the roof where two angles meet they play a critical role in keeping rain and melting snow from leaking into the house.
Secure yourself atop the roof along the ridge line by using a ladder.
Repeat this on the other side of the ridge line.
Create at least one.
Continue shingling up both sides of the roof until a row of shingles from each side of the roof extends over the peak of the building.
In summary to install the ridge cap shingles you simply separate them where they are perforated bend them over the peak and nail them down.
