How to tighten a sliding glass door handle.
Standard sliding glass doors all have tracks.
Take a peek inside the slots at the screws to see whether you need a flat head or phillips head screwdriver.
The new bolts were threaded perfectly.
I had to use those washers because the bolts were a hint too long.
Adjust sliding glass door lock handle is using a putty knife remove the strike plate to access the adjustment screw.
Using an awl or small screwdriver push the button in all the way and at the same time pull off the handle.
Using your phillip s screwdriver you need to back out the adjustment screw and the screws located above and below the adjustment screw.
For some door handles over tightening the mounting plate binds up the inner mechanisms forcing the lockset to not work at all.
Finalize your project by replacing your screw covers back on your door s handle.
Release the tab or button remove the inside doorknob by locating the button like our model metal tab or wire clip on the side of the knob that acts as a release.
Over time the sliding glass door track accumulates dirt and grime.

Now you will be able to move the strike plate up and down.
This slows down your door considerably.
Here is a photo of the handle back in place this time nice and tight.
The track acts as a guide for the door and also allows roller wheels to help the door run smoothly.
Just tighten the handles enough so that by testing your sliding glass door handle it no longer wiggles.
You may only need to adjust one of the screws to get your door back on track or you might have to tinker with both sets.
Also i cleaned and oiled the sliding glass door track which allowed the door to slide much smoother and easier.
