Using a tape measure take the width of the wall and divide that by two to find the centre.
Use a level and tape to measure for your tile locations.
Fill any cracks or holes in.
You want the tile adhesive to have something to grab onto.
Thoroughly vacuum the area and give the wall a once over with a damp sponge or cleaning cloth.
Install the wall tile in a pyramid shape.
Then using a vertical spirit level line it up with the mark and draw a line down the centre of the wall.

Shim any gaps between the new wall and the ceiling.
Make sure your wall is ready to go.
Nail or screw the wall to the floor and to the ceiling joists.
Your wall is up and ready for finishing.
If the new wall aligns with a stud on the adjoining wall attach it there as well.
Use measuring tape to take precise.
Sand with a medium grit sandpaper to create a uniform surface that s not too smooth.

Check your floor for level and walls.
A batten board helps you start your bottom most course or row of tiles.
Put on a pair of safety goggles before you start.
Do you stack the tile.
Apply a level to make sure the wall is exactly vertical.
Use a chisel and hammer if you need to remove existing tiles.
So you ve got that bottom row of tile.
Hang a batten board to prevent tile slippage.
Seal the walls with a skim coat and let it dry thoroughly.
Measure the width and height of the wall to find out how many tiles you need.
