Use the flat head screwdriver to turn the spindle in the center of the door lock cylinder counterclockwise until it stops.

If this isn t working try ramming the pin up with a few more taps from the hammer.
The basic pin tumbler lock should work ideally with only one key.
Some locks designed for interior use may have these holes on the exterior side for homeowners who have lost the key.
At this point the square tab on the spindle is aligned with the square.
After the pins are removed from all the hinges a small pry bar or a claw hammer can be used to start pulling out the sash from its frame very slowly as shown in figure 6.
Now that you ve located the slot you ll need a flat head screwdriver or a small pin paper clip or nail to press the release button inside of the slot these tend to be very small.
