Silicone will stick to the shed but i d use it before creosoting it as it wont stick to creosoted surfaces.

Cedar for shed roofing and also cladding comes in a wide variety of standardised grades.
It is likely that if it is cheap it is a low grade that may have a large number of knots or splits in it.
After the fact i am told that roofing felt between the butt would have made a good sealant.
Use joint compound on the wall and ceiling to hold the tape in place.
