To hold the doorjamb flush with the drywall before permanently fastening it attach temporary blocks to both sides of the jamb.
Install a door with hinges on bothsides.
Place the hinge pin in the hinge to secure the new hinge.
Do this before you take the door off its hinges.
Put the hinge on the hinge side of the cabinet door where you marked from the bottom and arrange it so it s in the position it needs to be installed in.
Blocks and attach each with 2 in.
The door im doing is an interio.
One about 2 inches above the top hinge and the other about 2 inches from the center hinge.
Step 5 mark hinges.
Use the hex wrench to turn.
Or simpler how to hang a door.
Temporarily screw the hinge jamb in place by driving two 8 3 inch drywall screws through it.
If not trim the door as necessary.
They will make an exact copy of the door for you.
Check that the door jamb on the hinge side is plumb and shim as necessary.
There is an easier way.
If you choose to do this be sure to write in pencil on both sides of the door which is the top.
Install the new hinge.
In this video i m showing how to fit a door hinges on to the door and on the door frame.
Place the hinge on the door and mark the distance from the edge.
Use a drill or screwdriver and the package screws to secure the two sides of the hinge to the jamb and the door.
Place your new hinge over the location of the old one.
Use a pencil to mark around the hinge so you know where you need to bore your hole.
Loosen the screws if necessary to bring the jamb back into plumb.
Nail three blocks on the latch side and two on the hinge side the door slab keeps the middle of the hinge side rigid.
Remove the blocks and allow the door to swing in the opposite direction.
Simply take the door off the hinges and offer it up as a sacrifice to the lumber company for a week.
Hinges placed on the right cause a door to open into a room while hinges placed on the left cause a door to swing outwards.
