How to mount a wood shelf to a wall floating.
Before you start drilling holes into your wall to avoid potential costly damage.
Hang the shelf on the mounting brackets.
Saw a jigsaw circular saw or table saw.
This section of wood will be what the open back part of your shelf slides onto to keep it on the wall.
Position the shelf on the wall.
Position the shelf brackets against the wall along the bottom of the shelf.
With some setups the shelf rests on top of the brackets.
Dolle strongfix floating shelf brackets you ll need at least two they come in pairs more for a longer shelf.
Scrap wood wood screws.

Measure the piece of wood to ensure it fits inside the length of the shelf before using a saw to cut it.
Remove the shelf and the brackets from the wall.
Fit a floating shelf by pushing it onto the bracket instead.
Use a standard level to make sure it s placed in a straight line then lightly mark the wall with a pencil on both ends.
Wood for the shelf needs to be at least 1 thick and at least 5 deep.
Cut a 2x2 piece of wood long enough to fit inside your floating shelves.
Mark inside the holes so you know exactly where to insert the screws.
